The 46th Presidential Cycling Tour will be held on a route through Aegean and Mediterranean coastal tovvns betvveen April 11 and 18, the Turkish Cycling Federation said VVednesday.

A Japanese Culture Festival is to be held in Mugla’s Marmaris district in October as part of the 2010 Japan Year in Turkey.

An ancient city located in the Turunç district of the resort tovvn of Marmaris vvill be restored to serve tourism. The Marmaris Chamber of Commerce, or MTO, Muğla University Archeology Department, Turunç Municipality and The Union of Tourism and Infrastructure in Marmaris and its Environs, or MARTAB, have joined forces for the project.

Officials in the Aegean district ot’ Bodrum began the deınolition ot’ more than 300 unregistered buildings in the popular Gümbet neighborhood Monday. The buildings, which include hotels, restaurants, rafeterias, nightclubs, souvenir shops, bars and supermarkets, vvere built in the last 20 years, during a boom period for tourism.
